How is the American Youth Geography Initiative operated?

The American Youth Geography Initiative is headquartered and founded in Plano, Texas. It is operated by a collective of high school students in the different branches across the country. Each branch conducts its own advocacy events and workshops.

How can I start up my own branch?

Click on the “Take Action” button and scroll down to the “Connect” button. There, enter your information and the location you are wishing to open your branch in. Please enter the name of your greater city area if you live near a major metropolitan area.

How can I start advocating?

We host two main outlets of advocacy: educating and speaking. You can start by contacting your local branch (or starting one if there isn’t one available) to see if there are any opportunities to be an educator in local workshops and/or a speaker at local advocacy seminars.

Whats the difference between after school and daycare workshops?

After school workshops are hosted and ran by educators at their high schools. For example, the Seattle and Chicago Branches run their after school workshops through school AYGI club affiliates. Daycare workshops are run in local daycares during the summer by volunteer educators and branch leaders.
